There are distinct aromas of chocolate and smoke, but no other tasting notes: sweet tobacco and soil with a black alcohol finish. This horsepower’s aroma, which includes cocoa nibs, peat, and nutmeg undertones, is best described as (kicking itself).     The mouthfeel of Smart Ass is moderate and bright with a light body. The body of the beverage doesn’t overpower it, similar to how acidic it is. One gets rewarded with a cup of coffee that is well-balanced at the end of the boil. Africa, Central America, and South America are the three continents represented in the Smart Ass Mix. These areas have a favorable climate for coffee cultivation and produce large quantities of Arabica coffee (which is the highest quality strand of the coffee plant).     The scent is important while tasting coffee, at least it is for me. Prior to tasting with our mouths, we first taste with our nose. I sensed hints of old man’s perfume, woodland floor, dark baker’s chocolate, and other flavors. The burst of flavors occurs during the tasting process. I’m still not sure how I feel about this specific explosion… It’s sturdy, maybe too sturdy. It contains citrus notes with traces of dark chocolate. Yet regrettably, the subtleties are missing. The lack of a specific delicate quality prohibits the coffee from scoring in the 90s. For a decaf, its personality is a little too boisterous and extraverted.
