Big thank you to everyone who attended the Coffee & Mind event on Saturday at Mozaic Living. I was so impressed with the caliber of the people in attendance. Fantastic crowd! Special thanks of course to Pau, Eli, Sha, and Miko, the coffee experts who made it all possible, and the great crew at Mozaic Living.
If you were in attendance and wanted to take part in the final “Coffee WXYZ” experiment, you can do so by filling out the simple form here.
At the beginning of this event, I explained to the group that I might be playing some tricks on them already. During the event, people tasted three coffees and filled out score cards for them. Without revealing too much for those who were not in attendance, we had a very strong result demonstrating that language, color, visual and auditory cues could have a strong result on how coffees were scored. We also showed that perhaps group dynamics and even social proof can help influence how things are scored.
Coffee Experiment #1 went very well, and I’m thankful to everyone who participated. I’m not going to reveal too much right now, because I hope to repeat it soon and fine tune things.
For Coffee Experiment #2 (those in attendance know what it was… remember the colored words?), I am still tallying the results and I will reveal them quite soon. In the meantime, please fill out the form for Experiment #3 now.
For those of you unable to attend my events but who are interested in taking part in experiments in the future, please drop me a message and your email address below. We’ll be extending these out to other countries soon! The process is always anonymous, and I will share the results with the people who participate.
Thanks again, everyone!
(As usual when I do these events, I never got any photos of the whole room filled up with people because I’m too busy playing my role as emcee, so please contact me if you have more photos!)
